"As a leader, am I doing everything right?"

"Do I actually lead my team?"

"Am I not privy to some occurrences in my own company?"

"Is someone in my team a suitable successor?"

Jack Dijkgraaf (english): Coaching

I stand for transparency, responsibility and ethical action.

I stand against deception, stagnation and trickle-up economics.

What is the core of my concept? Empathy in leaders is greatly overrated. While it is a desirable trait a strong framework of ethical values and a consequently followed leadership culture is way more effective.

You can sink your money into empathy-coaching and see little return on investment or you implement my leadership concept and can observe rising productivity, loyalty and satisfaction of your employees in real-time.

The 3 pillars of my leadership concept are:

1. Open communication in all directions!

2. Take, give and demand responsibility!

3. Actively live your values!

My name is Jack Dijkgraaf

I've been intimately familiar with leadership for over 21 years.

I experienced and helped shape leadership in diverse industries and positions. I got to know every conceivable leadership style and have seen (or even made) most errors a leader can make.

I took on my first leadership task while at school, during one of my first jobs. At 17 years of age, I assigned tasks to co-workers who were more than double my age at the time.

This was followed by 8 years in the military, where I experienced outdated leadership styles as well as the concept of "Innere Führung" ("Inner Leadership").

From the Joint Medical Service to the Army, Navy and finally Joint Support Service, I served in all branches of the German military except the Airforce, with all their peculiarities, necessities and merits.

During this time I also worked in emergency medical service and later IT, some of it as a volunteer. Over the entire course of my military career, I was either soldiers'/NCOs' spokesperson or had a leadership role in my peer groud.

After my term of service, I studied children's and youths education, training to become a teacher. I volunteered for several years at the Nordkirchen (northern churches) ("TEO - Tage ethischer Orientierung"(days of ethical orientation)). This provided more interesting synergies for adult education and leadership training.

The largest part of my experiences and development was gained in the last industry I worked in - customer service - in record time.

From technical support on a high level to becoming a trainer, my coaching competency was furthered.

As a quality manager, I was responsible for the processes which our team leaders had to follow and I got to experience them as a team leader myself. Not only did I lead a team and superiors, but also had to lead laterally. This was the time of my greatest learning experiences.

During this time I was able to witness the implementation of a new leadership culture. The uncertain phase of being bought by another company and the sudden change of turning an owner-managed business to one of the largest global players in the market.

The single largest development happened as a sales manager (for several sites in Germany). Despite outstanding numbers and setting the benchmark, an entirely new form of lateral and upwards leadership was required of me. In a short time, I learned more about leadership, than some managers do their entire lives.

Leadership has been a part of my entire career, be it as a soldier, employee, manager or CEO.

From diverse concepts like Agility, Mindfulness and the many forms of "management by..." I devoured everything I could find about the topic. Trade literature, podcasts, TED talks, lectures, seminars and finally being coached myself gave me the finishing touches.

The last destination of my journey has been the founding of Deichgraf Consulting. Leon, Patricio and I created a concept that's able to make industry spanning best practices viable for areas like communications, sales and leadership.

Forced to act by the COVID-19 pandemic, we provided our service for free for companies and entrepreneurs in Osnabrück and Münster. We helped to strengthen our home region and as many local businesses as possible.

Over 18 businesses from different industries (hairdressers to yoga-instructors) implemented our measures to great effect.

We learned a few valuable lessons during that time:

Coaching will be more effective, the more personal investment is put into it.

We shifted our focus onto our core competencies.

I am different from other CEOs and I'm happy to be different.

This is precisely the reason you should be coached by me! My perspective is entirely new and different from any you know.

I experienced ups and downs my entire life. From 3 digit salaries to 5 digits, success is a relatively new experience for me. That enables me to view leadership from all sides.

I am not bound by any ideology. I look at each coachee individually and put the most effective measures into action.

I'm primarily concerned with efficacy. This resulted in a unique concept, which is highly adaptable to any sort of leadership culture.

I wear Kilts, am honest, direct and open. My appearance alone separates my from every coach you have seen to date.

I don't need marketing ploys, obtrusive advertising or customer acquisition. If you need me or want to learn and grow with me - you will find your way to me.
